Building British: The Lotus brand

On Friday 8th April 2011 Aston University are welcoming Andreas Schlegel, Global Marketing Director for Lotus, to campus as part of the Leading Thinkers, Leading Visions lecture series in association with McCann Erickson.  Andreas will discuss the value of effective brand management during difficult times, and shed some light on the dramatic re-birth of a British automotive icon.

Lotus is an iconic British car manufacturer with a colourful history spanning more than 60 years. The Lotus brand was once recognised as the equal of Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini, but lost profile in recent years. In 2010, on the back of significant investment by parent company Proton and led by an all-new senior management team headed by Dany Bahar, Lotus shocked the Paris motor show by unveiling not one, but five brand new models, thus hailing the renaissance of the Lotus brand.
