Academics at Aston University are currently enjoying a spate of patent grants and are seeking commercial partners to help commercialise technologies in life and health sciences and engineering.
All the technologies available for licensing can be found on Aston's new inventions website: www.astoninventions.com, along with investment opportunities, podcast demonstrations, published patents and research articles.
Aston's IP Business Development manager Darian Brookes said: “Aston's intellectual property can bring many benefits to businesses of any size and in many sectors and there are many different ways for companies to access this technology. Astoninventions.com is a simple and straightforward way of viewing all these commercial opportunities.”
The IP Team in Aston's Business Partnership Unit currently manages a diverse portfolio of over 50 patents and patent applications, and each year file 10 to 12 new patent applications. In 2009 there have been six US patents, one European patent, and one UK patent granted at Aston, including the first chronotherapeutic drug delivery system for glaucoma.
