CASE (Co-operative Award in Science & Engineering) awards are designed to promote collaborative research between industry and universities in order to increase the competitiveness of the businesses involved. Each project enables the university to recruit and dedicate a top quality researcher to focus on an industrially focussed research project for a three year period. Each researcher is supervised by a leading academic from a relevant technical area.
The benefits to the industrial partners are:
- CASE can provide an economic way of solving your research, design or manufacturing problems.
- The scheme allows industry and commerce to forge closer links with universities and to draw upon their expertise and facilities.
- The CASE student will spend three months of the three-year award working in the laboratory of the industrial partner
Aston University has extensive scientific and engineering expertise applicable to a wide range of industrial sectors. CASE is an excellent route to access this expertise and derive tangible commercial benefits from access to Aston's facilities.
