Mrs. Rachel Burn



I am the Business Manager for Aston Medical School and have been in post since January 2014. I am directly responsible to Aston’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Health, Prof Asif Ahmed, for developing and operationalising Aston’s new Medical School and leading the School Office.  I am also Chair of the University’s Health & Safety Audit Group and a Course Director for two of Aston Business Schools’ part-time undergraduate degrees. 

Prior to joining Aston Medical School, I was the Head of Administration for Aston Business School where I was also a member of the Association of Business Schools Senior Managers Committee.  Prior to that, I worked for ten years for The Open University in a variety of roles relating to change management and student support. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Fellow of the Association of University Administrators and the Chartered Management Institute and have a Masters in Education (Lifelong Learning) and an MBA with Merit from the Open University. I am also a Governor of Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College.
