Humanitarian Logistics for Disaster Relief Operation

The purpose of disaster response in the humanitarian relief chain is to quickly supply relief in the form of food, water, medicine, shelter and supplies to minimize human suffering and death.  Therefore, the design and operation of the relief chain play significant roles in achieving an effective response.  There are four key strategies: mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery to manage a disaster.  I am focusing on response.  In particular I am focusing on inventory decision, facility decision, transportation decision and distribution decision dealing with optimisation techniques, simulation techniques and case studies.
