Ann Davis Aston Business School

Ann Davis is a Reader in the Work & Organisational Psychology Department at Aston Business School. Her background is in both Work Psychology and HRM, and she is a chartered member of the CIPD and of the BPS. She has taught introductory and advanced courses in the field of people and work for over 20 years. She has published in a variety of peer reviewed journals in HRM and psychology, her work focusing on the construction and enactment of the employment relationship.

On the undergraduate programme, I am module leader for Introduction to Organisational Behaviour and have led Theories and Practice of Human Resource Management (BH2212). On the postgraduate programme I teach on Assessment, Performance and Reward (BHM347) and Employee Relations and Counselling (BHM348). I am Associate Course Director for the Joint Honours Psychology and Business BSc Programme.
My research interests centre around the relationship between the individual and the organisation. From an occupational psychology perspective this covers issues such as organisational commitment, identification, and the nature of the psychological contract. From an HRM perspective, issues of organisational justice, managerialism and the (mis)use of power in organisations become prominent.
