The Sales Innovation Research theme within the Marketing Group at Aston Business School is initiated byProfessor Ad de Jong and encompasses a range of research interests, and includes work on sales innovation, product and service innovation, and team-based selling, and customer service teams, and innovation activities. Research in this topic area revolves around the implementation of innovative sales approaches and systems, management of the company’s sales force with regard to the sale of product innovations and green products, as well as, managing the implementation of innovative customer service approaches and employee’s ability to offer innovative customer services.
Those involved in this theme have made significant contributions to theory development and practice in their specific areas of interest. Collaboration with other scientific institutions has resulted in co-editing a special issue on Sales and Innovation for the Journal of Product Innovation Management. Furthermore, their work has been published in academic journals such as the Journal of Marketing, Management Science, theJournal of Management, the Journal of Product Innovation Management, the Journal of Retailing, the Journal of Service Research, the Journal of the Academy of Marketing, the British Journal of Management, Marketing Letters, Decision Sciences, the Journal of Management Studies, and the Journal of Service Management.
Research on the sales innovation research theme continues to develop into new and exciting areas; Collaboration with institutions, including Eindhoven University of Technology, Maastricht University, University of Houston, University of Missouri Kansas City, ESCP Business School Berlin Aalto University, Erasmus University, Technical University Darmstadt, and many more.
The researchers in the Centre for Sales Innovation (CSI) are collaborating with firms on impactful industry projects by, for instance, enabling firms to develop their sales force through innovative simulations.In addition, The Centre for Sales Innovation would like to stimulate potential research students to apply for a range of topics.
