Dr Folmer

In 2014 I joined Aston University to work on the FP7 funded research project SEFORIS - Social Enterprise as Force for more Inclusive and Innovative Societies. As of 2016 I am a lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Aston. 

In 2014, I completed my PhD at the University of Amsterdam. My PhD research investigated the dynamics of entrepreneurship and small businesses in urban residential neighbourhoods.

At Aston Business School I teach modules in Entrepreneurship, in particular the undergraduate module 'Entrepreneurial Management' and the postgraduate module 'Entrepreneurial Strategies. I am also course director for the MSc programme Entrepreneurship and International Business. 
My research focuses on entrepreneurship & social entrepreneurship, urban landscapes of production & consumption, and neighbourhood economies. Across these topics I am interested how contextual factors influence entrepreneurial activities and vice versa.
