Carlene joined Aston Business School in October 2014, having spent the previous three years completing my PhD in Accountancy at the University of Exeter. Prior to that she spent a total of twenty one years at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Jamaica both as administrator and lecturer. She also worked as a Research Assistant with the Consumer Affairs Commission, Government of Jamaica for ten years.
Her teaching experience spans more than fifteen years lecturing and tutoring in an international environment at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Carlene taught at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica, University of Exeter, UK and the University of Hartford, USA. The courses she taught included taxation, financial accounting and cost and management accounting.
Her professional experience extends for more than thirty years working as Faculty of Social Sciences summer school coordinator, administrator, departmental coordinator and project accountant in the Department of Management Studies, University of the West Indies, Jamaica.
