Carole Parkes is co-Director of Social Responsibility and Sustainability at Aston Business School. Since 2007, Carole has been key driver for Aston’s early and active involvement with the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education - (UNPRME) that aim to be a driver for change the education of future business leaders in creating an inclusive and sustainable global economy. This has included leading curriculum change across the Business School & University. She has developed and leads an MSc in Social Responsibility & Sustainability.

Ataur is a senior lecturer in Accounting at the ABS. Previously I taught at the University of Toulouse Business School, France, the University of Regensburg, Germany, Sheffield University Management School, UK and the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. My principal research interest lies in the area of social and environmental accounting. He has presented his research in leading international conferences and workshops in various countries, and his research papers have appeared in the leading international journals in the field such as Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Critical Perspectives on Accounting and Advances in Accounting.

Gary joined ABS in 2003 as a Research Assistant and is currently a lecturer in Strategy. His research is problem-centered, focussing on questions such as how do managers adopt to new strategic challenges or balance competing demands? Theoretically, his research draws from theories of identity, culture, social practice and microinstitutions. Methodologically, Gary's work tends to be process-oriented and ethnographic in nature, with a growing interest in using video-ethnographic approaches.

Stephanie Decker is a senior lecturer in international business at ABS, where she has been working since 2010. She teaches qualitative approaches to international business & strategy, and is interested in supervising doctoral research in this area (e.g. internationalisation, multinational strategy, and issues in emerging and developing economies). She has presented her work at a variety of universities in the UK, Europe, America and Africa, as well as external organisations such as the World Bank.

Prasanta is a professor in Operations and Information Management at ABS. Prior to joining Aston University in 2004, he worked for 4 and half years with the University of West Indies in Barbados as a Director of a graduate project management program and 13 years in Indian Oil Corporation Limited, India as a project executive. He has a bachelor in mechanical engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, Master’s in Industrial engineering and management from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand, and Doctoral degree in Production engineering from Jadavpur University. He specializes in low carbon supply chain management and project management.

I joined Aston Business School in September 2009. Before that I was a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Cyprus, where I had previously completed an MSc in Finance and worked as research and teaching assistant since 1999. I also hold an MSc in Information Management from Lancaster University. My BSc is in Business Administration (concentration: Management Science) from the University of Cyprus.

Robert joined Aston Business School from Trinity Hall, Cambridge, where he undertook research towards a Ph.D. in company law which he is currently completing. He holds a first class honours degree in accounting and finance from Brighton University and a master’s degree in commercial law (awarded with commendation) from Bristol University. His research interests are in company law, corporate governance and taxation. His principal publications are within company law. He is also interested in Scots law and has published in the leading Scottish law journals.

After graduating with an LLB from University College Cardiff, Claire studied at the Inns of Court School of Law, and was called to the Bar in 1985 as a Barrister of the Middle Temple. In 1994 she gained an LLM in commercial law at the University of Birmingham and has taught at law schools including Cardiff, Birmingham and UWE Bristol. She teaches company law and intellectual property law at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and is keen to promote excellence in the teaching of intellectual property.

David is a Senior Lecturer in Economics. He is also a Research Professor at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). David has considerable experience in the economic modelling of infrastructre industry costs and its application to infrastructure industry issues. Moreover, he also teaches post graduate modules on efficiency and cost modelling which are regularly attended by representatives of both infrastracture firms and their regulators.
