Professor Markus Blut received the Journal of Service Research “Best Article” Award 2017 for the article ‘Factors Influencing the Acceptance of Self-Service Technologies: A Meta-Analysis’ (Vol. 19, Issue 4, pp. 396-416). The award was presented at the 2017 Frontiers in Service Conference in New York.
Professor Markus Blut was ranked 9th in the 2017 Retail Ranking identifying leading authors in retailing research. The ranking is based on an analysis of articles published in the Journal of Retailing between the years 2009 and 2015.
On June 28th, 2017 Professor Christof Backhaus gave an invited talk on Reward Redemption in Loyalty Programs at the Research Seminar of Mercator School of Management, University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany).
At the upcoming Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, which will take place in Atlanta (August 4-8, 2017), Professor Tyrone Pitsis (Leeds University Business School) and Professor Christof Backhaus (Aston) offer a Professional Development Workshop on ‘How to Make Academic-Practitioner-Relationships Work’. Utilising a learning community approach, presenters from both the academic and the practitioner’s background will share their experiences gained in collaborative projects. Participants will reflect on the expert presentations and carve out important Dos and Don’ts alongside the initiation phase, the working phase and the follow-up phase of an academic-practitioner relationship.
ACRI host 6th annual Research Camp
ACRI and Aston Business School hosted the 6th annual Marketing Research Camp on 23 June The event brought together world-leading researchers Professor Russell Belk from York University, Canada, Professor Mark Birkin (University of Leeds), Professor Rajesh Chandy (London Business School) and Professor Dwayne Gremler (Bowling Green State University, USA) to provide fascinating insights into their areas of expertise such as consumer masks, research in emerging markets and predictive analytics.
About 40 participants from all over the UK and Europe attended the mix of distinguished plenary sessions and focused thematic workshops led by the guest speakers and Aston Marketing Professors: Heiner Evanschitzky, Ad De-Jong and Christof Backhaus.
