Programme: Law with Management
Year of Study: 3

I chose to study at Aston because it has a good ranking in the University League tables. When I came to visit Aston seemed like a small, friendly university. The location is brilliant as it is in the centre of Birmingham, so I can access everything I need easily. I chose to study Law with Management here as it will give me something extra including a placement year to gain first-hand experience and help me stand out from other law graduates. I will also leave with a qualifying law degree, a year’s work experience, plus useful business knowledge from the management modules.
Working and studying at Aston is great, everything is on one campus so you don’t have to travel far to lectures. In terms of studying, the resources are good and there is a lot of support from the library. The lecturers often put on workshops with external companies in order to help enhance our learning. There are also places for advice and support like the careers and placement offices and the guild. I like to take part in various different sports and Aston has many different sports activities and societies so I don’t need to travel elsewhere. This helps to maintain a healthy balance between studies and socialising.
I am currently on placement at Aston working on Intellectual Property Law. Working at Aston has given me the chance to see and appreciate how the University works as a whole.  It has also given me the opportunity to undertake any training courses which are provided.
