The majority of Aston Business School’s faculty is recognised as conducting research that is ranked as internationally excellent or world-class. You are guaranteed to have a supervisor who has an excellent research track record directly related to the DBA topic.
This is a rare facility that can only be undertaken by an institution with the research breadth of Aston.
Aston Business School operates a supervisory team approach meaning that when an area of Executive DBA crosses traditional boundaries, further supervisors from different backgrounds can be involved.
These people are amongst many who have all supervised Executive DBAs.
Research that delivers
Aston Business School has six specialist research groups set up to support DBA candidates, including:
- Aston Law
- Economics, Finance and Entrepreneurship
- Marketing and Strategy
- Operations and Information Management
- Work and Orgasnisaitonal Psychology
Each group is measured on 'research impact'. Aston Business School is ranked 17th out of 101 institutions for 3* and 4* in the most recent REF survey.
As a DBA candidate you will have access to leading academics. Professor Heiner Evanschitzky is the go-to authority on retail marketing. "There are interesting phenomena in the real world... and this is normally the starting point for my research."
Professor Tim Baines is the Director of the Aston Centre for Servitization Research and Practice. He is internationally recognised as the leading authority on servitization and advanced services and spends much of his time working with global manufacturing companies to take their businesses to the next level.
