If you pay tax through PAYE (Pay As You Earn), Payroll Giving (also known as Give As You Earn, GAYE) offers a simple way to reduce the cost to you of making regular gifts to charities. 
Aston University is classified as an Exempt Charity under Schedule 3 of the Charities Act 2011. This means that Aston pays no Income Tax or Inheritance Tax on gifts of money or property it receives.

Aston alumni in the US can make a gift through the Aston University in Americas Foundation, and is set up with 501(c)(3) status to ensure your donation is tax effective.

Aston University is a “prescribed University outside Canada” (s3503 of Canadian income tax law). All gifts to Aston made by Canadian taxpayers are therefore fully tax-deductible.

You can make a gift, securely, online now. Simply decide what sort of gift you wish to make, regular by Direct Debit or one-off by credit or debit card. 100% of your donation will be used to support Aston students.

If you are a UK tax payer, please Gift Aid your donation. This is of no cost to you, but can increase your donation by 25% by simply opting into the scheme. 

Gift Aid increases the size of your donation by 25% at no extra expense or inconvenience to yourself. You can increase the value of your donation simply by submitting a Gift Aid declaration.

Over the past year alone, 45 scholarships were funded by Gift Aid. Thank you. If you are a UK tax-payer Aston University can reclaim tax from HM Revenue and Customs under Gift Aid. 

In addition to this, higher rate tax payers can claim personal tax relief on the difference between the higher and basic tax rates via a Self Assessment Form (see tab below for details).

Higher-rate tax-payers, can claim the difference between the higher rate of tax (40%) and the basic rate of tax (20%) on the total gross value of your gift to Aston as we are classed as an Exempt Charity.
