Alumni Reception in Auckland, New Zealand, 9 May 2017

Join Pro Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean, Professor Simon Green, at a drinks reception in Auckland on Tuesday 9 May.

During the reception Professor Green will update you on Aston's achievements and future plans. As a Professor of Politics he will also share his thoughts and perspectives on Britain’s vote to leave the European Union, and what that might mean for the UK and the rest of Europe in the coming years.

In conversation with...Rod Turner

Rod Turner studied electrical and mechanical engineering Aston and graduated with First Class Honours, became a professional engineer, marketed computers for a large company, and then became an entrepreneur. He has been a venture capitalist and a founder or co-founder of 6 successful startups that employ 22k people, and have a market value of $14 billion today. 


In conversation with...Johnny Vulkan

Johnny Vulkan is founding partner of Anomaly Communications, LLC, where he is responsible for innovation for the agency's initiatives and intellectual property, as well as leading digital strategy. 

He has led new product development projects at Fahrenheit 212, where he helped evolve markets and products for P&G, General Mills and Starbucks.


In conversation with...Phil Popham

Luxury British motor yacht manufacturer, Sunseeker International, appointed Aston graduate Phil Popham as its CEO in 2014. 

Sunseeker, whose yachts have appeared in four James Bond films, employs over 2,000 staff and in 2013 reported losses of £26m. Phil was headhunted and joined the company in November 2014, within just two years the company has been turned around and is expected to report profits in 2016.
