In Conversation with webinar...Dr John Bamforth and Dr Sue Mahony, Thursday 25th January, 1pm GMT  

We are delighted to welcome a most distinguished husband-and-wife duo to the In Conversation webinar series.  Since meeting at Aston in the 1980s, Dr Sue Mahony and Dr John Bamforth have carved illustrious international careers, and both received Honorary Degrees from Aston University in 2012 in honour of their outstanding contributions to the pharmaceutical industry.

Rod Turner studied electrical and mechanical engineering Aston and graduated with First Class Honours, became a professional engineer, marketed computers for a large company, and then became an entrepreneur. He has been a venture capitalist and a founder or co-founder of 6 successful startups that employ 22k people, and have a market value of $14 billion today. 


In conversation with...Johnny Vulkan

Johnny Vulkan is founding partner of Anomaly Communications, LLC, where he is responsible for innovation for the agency's initiatives and intellectual property, as well as leading digital strategy. 

He has led new product development projects at Fahrenheit 212, where he helped evolve markets and products for P&G, General Mills and Starbucks.


In conversation with...Phil Popham

Luxury British motor yacht manufacturer, Sunseeker International, appointed Aston graduate Phil Popham as its CEO in 2014. 

Sunseeker, whose yachts have appeared in four James Bond films, employs over 2,000 staff and in 2013 reported losses of £26m. Phil was headhunted and joined the company in November 2014, within just two years the company has been turned around and is expected to report profits in 2016.
