Thank you to all who entered our 50th anniversary Alumni Sporting Memories Competition

The winners are as follows:

  • First prize: Keith Bridges (Transport Operation & Planning, 1987) - wins 12 months' free membership to Aston's sports facilities courtesy of Sport Aston
  • Second prize: Gavin Ward (Geology/Physics, 1985) - wins a framed Aston rugby jersey
  • Third prize: Keith Bridges (Transport Operation & Planning, 1987) - wins a selection of 50th-anniversary-branded  items courtesy of Aston Students' Union shop.

The judges commented: “Several of the sports teams have brought great distinction to the University in all sorts of ways - winning national tournaments, competing internationally, undertaking fund-raising events for charities, developing the skills of individuals who have represented their country and encouraging participation in sports generally and enhancing the collegiate team-spirit of the University. Of the examples that could be selected, the Cobras rugby tour of Canada illustrates so much of this, it is an ideal showcase."
