David Bishop

David graduated from Aston in 1980 with a degree in business administration and has since been involved with some of the worlds biggest mobile games, such as Plants vs Zombies and Bejewelled.

What advice would you give to today's Aston students?

"Have a plan but be prepared to change it, absolutely be passionate and love what you do if you can, it's really hard to throw your heart and your soul into something, if you're not really enjoying it. So try and find something that you're passionate about and don't settle for second best in that regard."

How does Aston compare to when you were here?

"It feels more like a centre of academia than it did in the late 70's, i think it's probably fair to say university life was the main thrust of being at university, and lectures were things you went to in between bits of having fun. Where as it feels the other way around now, it feels like a seat of learning and much more serious in that respect."

Aston equips you well for life after university and makes you more employable."
