Principles of Allocation

At Aston University, we provide living accommodation in over 3,000 bedrooms on campus. Whilst we would love to accommodate all our students on campus, demand often outweighs availability. With this in mind we would like to set out clearly our principles of allocation to ensure a fair and transparent process of providing on-campus bedroom facilities.

Returning Students Principles of Allocation 2017/18

The Allocation Policy for returning students is handled directly by Unite Students, please see their website for more information regarding their policies. To apply use the application portal to verify you are an Aston student. Unite will contact you directly, once verified to process your application.

New Students Principles of Allocation 2017/18 – Including a First Year Guarantee

We guarantee accommodation according to our Allocation Policy to 'Firm' applicants on full year (three-term) programmes (i.e. those applicants that have firmly accepted their conditional/unconditional Aston offer and are studying for a full academic year). There is a deadline of 14th July for this guarantee (28th July for postgraduates).

Undergraduate applicants choosing Aston University as their Insurance choice are allocated rooms only when Firm choice applicants have been placed, if they be eligible to come to Aston after results are released. Insurance and clearing applicants are not guaranteed accommodation.
