Community Reassurance
Security Officer Tina Hines with Tracey Pickering from West Midlands Police

All our security officers work tirelessly with our University Community, interacting with our students on a daily basis, and yes we’ve seen it all before!

So who better to offer advice on keeping safe and ensuring your time spent at Aston University is an enjoyable and productive one.

We take part in various fairs/events throughout the academic year to offer advice and support, and often have a few ‘free’ security goodies at hand to give to out to all that visit us.

So if you see us at these fairs, come over and say ‘Hi’. You’ll walk away with new friends in security, with more knowledge on how to keep safe, and possibly even a lolly pop.

If you can’t make it to any of these events, please don’t hesitate to speak to us at any time. We can’t guarantee that lolly pop if you just happen to see us walking across campus, but we’ll always try and answer your questions and help with any enquiry.

On the 28th November 2016 we also had a new local police officer start to work with us here at Aston. The officer’s name is Tracey Pickering. Tracey will also be around on campus to help with any queries you may have. Please call in to see her. Safer student information from West Midlands Police can be found here

We are having a ‘Meet your Security Teams’ event on 31st October 2017 between 14:00 – 16:00.

Please come and see us at the Library Reception area. This will be a perfect opportunity to meet the Universities dedicated Security Team, and see what they can do for you to make your time on campus, be it for an hour, or a four year residential course a happy and safe one.

They’ll have some useful knowledge of the campus to impart, some security gifts, as well as undertaking Free Bike Register marking for you. - https://www.bikeregister.com/advice/how-it-works
