Aston Business School has signed an agreement with The CFA Society of the UK (CFA UK) which recognises our BSc (Hons) Finance as highly relevant to professional practice and industry standards.
The agreement, signed 25th June 2012, confirms that our BSc (Hons) Finance has met the requirements to become a formally recognised IMC advantage programme, demonstrating that the course is closely aligned to CFA UK’s Investment Management Certificate syllabus.
Obtaining this certificate is often a requirement when starting a career in investment, with many graduates being required to sit the exam in the first three to six months of starting out in employment.
The IMC offers an excellent foundation to careers in the investment profession, and is an excellent first professional qualification for students wishing to pursue a career in finance. Preparing students to sit the certificate increases student employability and highlights the importance of professional qualifications for those wishing to work in financial services.
Jim Steeley, Professor of Finance and Head of the Finance and Accounting Group at ABS said: “Aston Business School is extremely pleased to become an IMC advantage partner. This partnership will provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to prepare for a professional qualification in finance alongside their degree. It represents added value for students hoping to enter the investment profession and further advances finance education for the region and beyond.”
