15 February 2012

A recent Aston University graduate is speaking at a major UK franchise event following his business success, having launched three companies since graduating in 2009.

Nick Holzherr, who graduated from Aston University in 2009 with  first-class honours in international business and modern languages, is delivering a seminar at The National Franchise Exhibition which takes place on 24 & 25 February 2012 at the NEC in Birmingham. His talk, entitled Anyone can do it: Choosing the right ideas and developing them into a business on a shoestring budget, will focus on how to develop good business ideas and turn them into reality.

At Aston University, Nick was founding president of “Students in free enterprise” society that runs projects in the local community. Since his graduation, he has founded three companies, QRky Ltd, which uses quick response technology to link digital contact and multimedia data to printed business cards; Recip.ly, which links recipe websites with online supermarkets; and Co-Go Coffee To Go Ltd, which sells high-quality, ethical takeaway coffee.

He is also guest lecturer at the University of Birmingham’s Business School and at Birmingham City University and was awarded Birmingham Young Professional of the Year 2011 for the Entrepreneurial category.

Nick’s talk forms part of a series of Growing Your Own Business seminars where aspiring entrepreneurs can learn from the experts everything they need to know about how to build a successful business. The series of seminars is just one of the many features at The National Franchise Exhibition.

The National Franchise Exhibition is open from 10am each day, closing at 5pm on Friday 24 February and 4pm on Saturday 25 February 2012.
