Aston University’s new nursery opened its doors on Monday, January 31st. Based on Venture Way at Birmingham Science Park, Aston, the new custom built nursery has places for 70 children aged from five months to five years.
The OFSTED approved nursery’s improved facilities will enhance the already outstanding service offered to children by Aston University. The new nursery will be open from 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday and will also cater for children aged 4 ½ - 11 years old during school holidays. The new building has easy drop off/collection points and is just minutes from the main University campus. Children can be booked into the nursery on a daily or weekly basis and fresh, healthy food is delivered daily helping the children to grow and develop.
Aston’s current nursery received a glowing report from OFSTED. Because it is OFSTED registered, children are taught using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, giving them a head start into compulsory education.
Adèle MacKinlay, Director of Staff and Student Service at Aston said: "Aston University’s nursery really does offer an unparalleled level of care to children and we have one of the most experienced and highly qualified nursery teams in the area. We have already had a lot of interest in the new nursery from people in the local community, and we see it as a really valuable new community resource as well as one for Aston staff and students. We are delighted to be able to introduce children to an institution like Aston University at an early age."
