11th June, 2010
This weekend Birmingham’s city centre will play host to Astonbury 2010, the Midlands very own music festival hosted by Aston University’s Students’ Guild.
The student and staff event, on Sunday 13th June, will feature chart-topping headline acts and DJs ready to wow the crowd.
The public can look forward to hearing music from Mr. Hudson, currently supporting US rap star Jay-Z on tour, Roll Deep who topped the UK singles chart last month, an exclusive DJ set from BBC Radio 1’s The Cut Up Boys, The Hoosiers, Gracious K and many more. The Blue Room at the Students’ Guild will be offering alternative music all day, great for those looking for something a bit different.
In true festival style, there will be fairground rides, dodgems, arm wrestling, a BBQ, pizzeria, and various attraction stalls on offer, to go alongside the music acts. Not forgetting a spectacular fireworks display to mark the end of what is sure to be a fantastic event.
For all the footy-mad fans, one of the Guild bars will be showing all three World Cup matches that are on during the day, to ensure you don’t miss out on the action.
Astonbury 2010 is sponsored by Aldi, IBM, Tenpin Star City, Cadbury, Endsleigh and Aston University.
