Leading education and business journalists from Russia were invited to Aston University to discover more about the UK’s Higher Education system.

The visit, part of a British Council annual press tour, was designed to promote awareness and to develop a greater understanding of UK education, in Russia.

The Journalists met with leading academics from Aston, had a tour of campus and had opportunity to meet with Russian students to gain a greater perspective of the reasons why increasing numbers of international students are choosing to study at Aston.

They also met with Professor Helen Higson, Pro Vice Chancellor for International Relations, and Electronic Engineering Professor Sergei Turitsyn to discover more about research and collaboration links between the School of Engineering and Applied Science with Russian companies and institutions.

The reporters were from a range of leading business and education publications, including RIA Novosti, an on-line business, society and art news website; Novaya Gazeta; Domovoy, a monthly glossy magazine and the British Council Moscow.
