21 February 2008 – for immediate release
Tony Wray, who is Chief Executive of Severn Trent, will give this year’s Aston University MacLaren Memorial Lecture on Management on Wednesday, 27 February at 7pm.
He joined the Company as Managing Director of Severn Trent Water in March 2005 and took over as Chief Executive of Severn Trent Plc in October 2007.
Since then he has had to manage major legacy issues from a previous regime involving sanctions from water regulator Ofwat and criminal charges by the Serious Fraud Office, as well as unprecedented weather conditions causing major floods and loss of water supplies in the region. At the time he has steered his rejuvenated organisation towards continued improvements and higher standards for the benefit of its customers and all Severn Trent's stakeholders.
In this lecture, Tony will outline the lessons learnt by Severn Trent and discuss the way forward for the Company so that it can continue to restore its reputation as a water and waste company to be proud of.
Admission to the lecture is free and open to everyone. It will take place in the University’s Great Hall with teas/coffees and cakes/pastries available in Aston Business School Conference Centre from 5.45pm.
Places can be booked in advance with Claire Hopkins on 0121 204 4542.
