Applications to Aston University in Birmingham are currently 9.1% up on last year’s figures, at 15,325.
The rise in demand for places is across virtually all the University’s undergraduate programmes, with the most rapid growth in Biomedical Sciences, Human Psychology, International Business & Economics, Mathematics, Politics & International Relations, Chemical Engineering and Construction Management.
Applications are also up nationally, as figures just released by UCAS (Universities & Colleges Admissions Service) show an overall growth in applications to higher education of 5.3% compared to the same time last year.
