MacLaren memorial lecture - 21 February 2007

Have you ever wondered why the likes of Richard Branson and Bill Gates are so successful? The answer is simple…

In this fiercely competitive environment the key to success is to stay ahead of the game especially when it comes to customer demands and the need to continue to develop technology.

Through the story of how Bhangra became part of the main stream music
scene, Aston University recently welcomed Ninder Johal to give an inspiring talk on how this straightforward theory worked for him.

Ninder’s visit was part of the MacLaren Memorial Lecture which was held in the University’s Great Hall on Wednesday 21 February at 7.00pm. He explained how he embraced innovation in all aspects of managing his successful record and entertainment businesses to meet ever changing customer expectations.

In an industry as dynamic and fluid as music, constant changes mean that only those engaged in innovation will survive. Ninder provided useful advice and drew on his own experiences to show how innovation isn't only about the big Eureka ideas.

The free event that was jointly organised by the Chartered Management Institute and Aston University was open to all.
