Drop a grade? Drop Aston a line
SOME PLACES are still available through clearing for well-qualified students, Aston University announced today.
Stewart Comfort, director of student recruitment and careers said: 'we get a high number of calls when A-level results are released and we welcome all the enquiries.
'All of our admissions staff will be on hand from Thursday 19 August to offer specialist advice, information and guidance.
'However, such is the popularity of our courses that we recruit relatively few students through the clearing system and the majority of our programmes are already full.
'The areas where we have vacancies include some of our engineering courses, sciences, social sciences and languages as well as some combined honours programmes,' he continued.
A full listing of what vacancies still exist at Aston and further information on the clearing procedure can be found on its dedicated webpage: www.aston.ac.uk/clearing/
Otherwise candidates can call Aston's clearing hotlines on: 0121 359 6313/ 3611 which are open between 8am and 7pm on Thursday 19 August.
Aston is also running some drop-in days on Friday 20, Saturday 21, Monday 23 and Wednesday 25 August for those who would prefer to visit the university to speak with someone. Advisors are on hand between 11am-2pm.
