Aston's Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor Alec Cameron, is the principal academic and executive officer of the University. Alec has overall responsibility for Aston's executive management and day-to-day direction.
The Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive is supported by the University Executive, which includes our Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

Aston's academic activity is divided into four Academic Schools; Aston Business School, Aston Medical School, School of Engineering and Applied Science, School of Languages and Social Science, and School of Life and Health Sciences each of which is managed by a Pro-Vice Chancellor & Executive Dean.
The Executive Directors and Officers head a number of support functions which provide administrative services to the University.
Aston's Chancellor, Sir John Sunderland, is the honorary and ceremonial head of the University. Aston's Pro-Chancellor, Dr Paul Golby, CBE, FREng, is the Chair of the University Council.
Aston is governed by the University Council. The Senate is Aston's supreme academic authority.
