I’m sure you’ve all been waiting with bated breath for the launch of the 2013 Go Green Awards. If so, you’ll be pleased to hear it’s back and better than ever!

We’re re-launching the awards as the Go Green Champions Network. It’s still a staff inter-departmental competition so you’ll have plenty of chances for a little friendly rivalry with colleagues and there will still be a celebratory awards presentation at the end of the year. We’ve tried to make the whole scheme more user-friendly, with a new version of the workbook and a lot more resources for our Champions to use. This year we have set every department their own energy reduction target so every team will need to have a Go Green Champion to make sure they’re heading in the right direction. We’re also asking you to get even more involved by helping us out with environmental auditing – more on this later in the year!

For now, all you need to do is check out the details on the website and then sign up by contacting the Environment & Sustainability Team

And we’ve already got the first event lined up for you – Andrew Bryers, our Energy Manager, will be doing a presentation on energy saving which you can sign up to through the Staff Development website. All Go Green Champions, as well as departmental secretaries and PA’s are being asked to attend this course so it will be a great opportunity for you to meet your fellow Champions (don’t forget, they’re your competition!) and to find out a bit more as well as ask any burning questions!

We look forward to seeing the sign-ups come flooding in and to meeting you all in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, feel free to drop us a line or get in touch through our facebook and twitter pages.
