Athena SWAN at Aston University: improving career progression, particularly for women

In 2010 Aston University received a Bronze Award from the ‘Athena SWAN Charter’This was extended and the University is currently pursuing a Silver Award in recognition of its support of female staff and students throughout the University.

The School of Engineering & Applied Science (EAS) holds a Silver departmental Award from Athena SWAN and has submitted an application to renew this during 2017.

The School of Life & Health Sciences holds a departmental Bronze Award and is pursuing a Silver Award. 

Aston Business School (ABS), Languages & Social Science (LSS) and Aston Medical School (AMS) are also planning to submit for awards.    

The awards have been granted in recognition of Aston’s excellent practice in, and on-going commitment to, the advancement and promotion of the careers of female staff and students.
