Athena SWAN: Charter for Women in Science


In 2010 Aston University received a Bronze Award from the ‘Athena SWAN Charter’ in recognition of its support for women in Science, Engineering & Technology (SET). 

In 2014 Aston University received a Silver Award from the ‘Athena SWAN Charter for supporting the careers of women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). 

The awards have been granted in recognition of Aston’s excellent practice in, and on-going commitment to, the advancement and promotion of the careers of female academics and researchers in SET subjects.

The School of Engineering & Applied Science (EAS) is currently pursuing the Athena Swan Gold Award to demonstrate EAS’ continuing commitment to advancing and supporting the careers of women in Science and Engineering subjects.

The School of Life & Health Sciences is currently pursuing a Silver Award from the ‘Athena SWAN Charter’ for supporting the careers of women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
